Nature's Path Academy is part of our education program at One Step Ministries, a nonprofit who's mission is to meet the needs of all children and youth. At Nature’s Path, we recognize that children are born with the natural ability and desire to explore, learn and develop their God-given potential. It is our responsibility, as facilitators, to guide them on their journey of discovery. The world is our curriculum. Through it, we provide a program rich in literacy, creativity, and problem solving, as well as physical and spiritual well-being.

Job Overview

​

To plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional learning environment that guides and encourages children to develop and fulfill their God-given potential. Work is performed under the supervision of the Executive Director of Education.

Essential responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

​

• Develop lesson plans to meet developmental goals and instructional activities

• Prepare classroom for class activities

• Exercise open communication with families, co-workers, supervisors, and other school staff

• Follow all center guidelines and policies to ensure safety of children and staff

• Create an environment rich with learning opportunities that encourages exploration

• Observe and evaluate children’s development

• Meet all yearly training requirements

• Attend scheduled staff meetings and special events

• Provide a safe, thriving, and respectful environment for all students in the classroom and other areas within the center

• ​

Other functions of the job include but are not limited to:

​

• Work with students having diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds

• Embrace and promote Nature’s Path Academy’s philosophy and culture

• Maintain a clean and sanitary classroom

• Maintain current CPR/First Aid certification

• Other tasks at the discretion of the Executive Directors

Qualifications

​

• At least 1 year childcare experience in a center preferred

• Teaching credential/certificate/license preferred

• Highly developed oral and written communication skills

• Physical ability to handle frequent sitting, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, moving and lifting

• Proven ability to maintain a safe classroom environment

• Ability to develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans

• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others

• Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis

Pay: From $11.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
All staff and children 3 years old and up are required to wear masks. Cleaning and sanitizing procedures are followed at close of business each day to prepare for the next day. A room has been devoted to cleaning and sanitizing toys and items.

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

​

Experience:

• Early Childhood Education: 1 year (Preferred)

• Childcare Center: 1 year (Preferred)

​

License/Certification:

• CPR Certification (Preferred)
